Thread: dVDK - vdk files Packer/Unpacker

dVDK - packer/unpacker for Requiem resource files.

The First valid Packer ever made for Requiem-Online
is accessible and no longer private!

1. Description
dVDK is a packer/unpacker for Requiem resource files (virtual disk with extansion vdk).

2. System Requirements
This program runs under:

• Windows NT 4.0 SP4 or later
• Windows 2000
• Windows XP
• Windows Server 2003
• Windows Vista, Windows Vista x64 (not tested yet)
• Windows 7

3. How to
To unpack vdk files just choose any proper file in folder by button "+" on the "Unpacker" tab. All files that are in the selected folder will be added to the list. After that, choose destination folder for extraction and press “extract” button.
For creation vdk, choose folder with proper directory structure and destination folder (away from source folder), where the output files with the name of chosen folder will be created. Set compression level between 1 (fast compression) and 3 (high compression).
Make sure that all files which must be packed are accessible.

How to check correctness of repacked file: after unpacking, choose newly created folder in “packer” tab, set compression level to 1 and pack again (read “known bug” section). After repacking, use any comparison tool to compare the old file and the new one. If no errors, then repacking was successful.

Note

Output file for “Shader” folder must have the same name as original file, “shader.vdk”
UI.vdk: have ttf file with unreadable name.
GOODS.vdk: unreadable filename “°иґЬіЄ№«.dds”.
ZONE.vdk: unreadable filename “Mapinfo ЖДАП ЅєЖ®ёµ АЇАЗ»зЗЧ.txt”
data.vdk: unreadable filename "blood_typeјіён.txt"

After repack works without troubles.

Packer/Unpacker was tested on Rus/Eng client vdk files, and will work with any other client, 'coz internal structure of vdk files is identical.

4. Known bugs
After unpacking some files aren’t in the proper folder:

Yeah I can and the dVDK2alfa is already working. I'll release it when I finish some other projects

As I know, only editing dat.vdk will affects the gameplay
