Thread: The introduction

Hello PGC! I've been around for a while, I've never really talked just ghosted around. Over the past several years I've been trying find something to do on a computer that doesn't involve a video game and I think I landed in reverse engineering. My first ever RE was done through a vague tutorial written by an Unknown author and it took me several hours to complete with a huge headache. I'm interested in learning the concept of RE, what is the goal of RE, why do we RE? When starting what is the goal of RE and how do we get there? I'm looking for guidance and direction and many hours over night with my coffee and a challenge.
