Thread: hello, I wish to convert old abandonware program to C++

An old game called Emperor of the Fading Suns is now abandonware, and I would like to save this old classic. Although I had some knowledge of assembly in the past (1970s) and used Fortran and Cobol I have since moved on through board game design, Anthropology, Nursing, writing and Osteopathy. Ill heath has caused me to give up healthcare and I have given myself this project. The game exists in an exe format with most of the .dat etc files as text. Basically I need to disassemble the exe and go from there. Any pointers?
