I am a pretty good coder and I was looking forward to helping make some sort of API to read and write the packets. I haven't been on this site for very long but this is how I would like to contribute. But I can't get the EXE unless I contribute something, but can't contribute something without the EXE. Only interested in Tera at the moment. If someone who is working on this could contact me, I could help out with this. Thanks!
NA version ?
Yes, sorry, NA version
Could you please expain a little bit more how to read the 3_Decompressed DAT file? I downloaded Total Commander and opened the file with Lister, used Unicode and ANSI but the file is still not properly read.
Thank you for your work! :good: this is going to be very useful for us, fan-site owners. :)

Sorry for the double post. I needed at least 1 Post to be allowed to post a link to the picture.
you can't read dat file, i mean the dat is encrypted by aes method (cfb mode), and compressed based on zlib inflat format, with inside a xml like template.
At the moment only some string can be read, but no usefull data.
After 4 hours I found this thread.
I'm looking forward to the XML or whatever the file types are to get the details about the items and quests.
This is to build a tool like this one:
aioncalculator.com (can't post links)
which was created by someone and it's now maintened by me.
Extracting the information about the items and quests was easy because I used a tool called AionPakExtractor.
If anyone is willing to help decrypt the files to get the details about the items and quests, please, let me know.
I know nothing about debugging or reverse engineer, but I can help if you tell me what to do.
Thanks
Hounder, h4x0r, or anyone else working on this. Apparently I can't send PMs until I have 15 "posts" (or maybe 30, or maybe 1000), which will probably never happen now that I have given constructive criticism about this site and it's design issues, and people who make a living moderating forums generally don't know how to handle criticism (not saying this will happen here but I'd be amazed if it didn't).
So if you want me to help work on this, PM me your contact or IM info, and we can meet up in private. D3 comes out in two weeks, so no big loss either way...
@Allotech, I dont know what you need, but NA version is exactly the same as EU version, just change on loading ressource(dat files)
You have all the infos inside this EU unpacked, btw If you want the NA version, you say you are a good coder, so post one of your releases and maybe you will be an 'VIP' member if your release is usefull.
At the fisrt time this thread is just for share *.exe unpacked by h4x0r ;)
Thanks for your post. I can work in x86, but work with C# most of the time. I plan on making something that intercepts and sends packets only without modifying the game client, if this is possible. To do this, an unpacked EXE is required to analyze and reverse the packet encryption algorithms. However, I don't want to be the guinea pig to log on to the server with this EXE and risk getting banned from Tera. So it will take a month or two before I can start working on anything like this.
Biggest thing that I think would have chance of being successful would be a damage / DPS meter. A lot of people are asking for them, and people can download one if it is made. Let them get used to having it around, and by the time the game devs get around to banning the DPS meter, people will already be reliant on them, and they will be pissed off if the DPS meter gets taken away, and will demand that they leave it alone.
Which of course, if they let a DPS meter exist, they will have to let other hacks exist as well, slippery slope rule. It happens in many major MMOs, and that's one reason why WoW has spent so much developing an addon API.
I have other projects I am working on, like designing a new architecture for the web (whether it becomes widely used or not is another story). And if I am going to spend a couple of months doing something, no offense but there are a lot bigger fish I can fry. So I am not doing anything for VIP status, but only for my own entertainment.
