some games doesnt work on win8, so i stick with win 7 :P

Windows 8 does not look promising at all for a developer, it is for a social person and also you would need touch screen to enjoy the whole concept.

I personally think windows 7 is the best because its very easy to navigate and easy to access anything but I hear WinXP is best, that maybe true in some aspects. Also as OS upgrade, believe it or not they will limit you on some stuff and give you some extra stuff to play around with.

needs alots to be done to be useable programable

i like windows 8 alot. if you spend less than 10mins of exploring windows 8 you wont like it bec of the metro ui. its slightly faster than 7 but the only sad part is that aion na (the game that i play) doesnt run if you set it to run on 64 client other than that its a good os for me.

Tiles kinda useful, personally I thought they were stupid at first but if you get hte right ones email, weatehr etc there pretty good
There is link to traditional desktop where most of your "windows programs" icons are.
Also windows 8 is lighter, faster, and more stable
another plus is much better driver system with mroe preisntalled and others automaticly available like linux. Windos 8 can even run much better on older laptops than 7.
Personally I would not pay for it. Others seem to find ways around that though....
