as a white hat you are only allowed to hack with PERMISSION, what you were saying is not ethical even if the intention is goodQuote:

bad, of course.
of course they are bad, but sometimes we need them!
Like anything, whether it's good or bad depends on the user's intent, and what he's actually doing (eg: you reverse game resources so your friend can make cool animations, but then magic happens and the independent studio who created those resources went out of business)
The consequences of hacking can also be good or bad.
All scenarios should be approached on a case-by-case basis, just like how the article provided only focuses on a set of cases.
depends on purpose, hack the system to make it more secure, its good.
hack the system to destroy, thats bad..
if i hack to get some money and sell it to other players it is good
Good for you?Quote:

Good for the company?
IMHO it's a bad thing. Very bad thing. Almost nothing good comes from hacks. It only helps to destroy games.
But, we (me and most of ppl here) are here cause we like it. ^^
I have found that hack can make a game more interesting, for the people who use them. It's much less interesting when you are the only one using them... Much more interesting when most people you go against are using them. Even more interesting if you are the one making the hack.
it is bad, but sometimes can be good:D
